Tubular Diamond Drill Bits

Viking do Brasil Larger, faster holes in stones and glass

High-resistance tubular diamond drill bits for fast drilling of stones and glass, with diameters from 1.7 mm to 6.0 mm. The tubular shape dissipates heat and drills faster than a conventional solid drill bit.

What are Tubular Diamond Drill Bits

Larger, faster holes, with a diamond tip

Viking do Brasil’s Tubular Diamond Drill Bits are rotary mechanical cutting tools with a diamond-coated tip, designed for drilling stones and glass at diameters larger than those served by ultrasonic drilling.

The tubular (hollow) shape is what sets these drill bits apart from conventional solid drill bits: the hollow structure allows the heat generated by friction to dissipate more quickly, preventing the tip from overheating and enabling larger holes at higher speed.

It’s the recommended option when the hole is larger than 1.7 mm or when production speed matters more than the extreme delicacy of the process — unlike the Viking 350 Ultrasonic Drill, which is suited for very small holes and fragile materials.

How it works

  1. 1

The drill bit is mounted on a rotary tool (micro-grinder or similar equipment)

  2. 2

The diamond tip contacts the stone or glass at high rotation speed

  3. 3

The tubular shape lets the friction heat dissipate through the hollow center

  4. 4

The cut advances progressively, forming a cylindrical hole in the material

  5. 5

Hole completed faster than manual or ultrasonic methods

Diamond drill bit or ultrasonic drill?

Which equipment to choose for your hole

The choice between the Tubular Diamond Drill Bits and the Ultrasonic Drill mainly depends on the diameter of the hole you need to make.

Tubular Diamond Drill Bits

You are here
1.7 mm – 6.0 mm

Recommended for larger, faster holes in stones and glass, using rotary mechanical cutting. The tubular shape helps dissipate heat and allows for larger-diameter holes at higher speed.

Viking 350 Ultrasonic Drill

0.5 mm – 3.0 mm

Recommended for small, delicate holes in precious and semi-precious stones, where the risk of cracking the material is the main concern. Manual operation, with full control over the hole’s position.

Applications

Where Tubular Diamond Drill Bits are used

From ornamental stones to decorative glass: larger holes with speed and wear resistance.

Ornamental Stones

Larger holes in ornamental and decorative stones, with faster production than manual processes.

  • Ornamental and decorative stones
  • Larger pieces
  • Larger-scale production
  • Larger-diameter through holes

Glass and Crystal

Drilling decorative glass and crystal with a high-resistance diamond tip.

  • Decorative glass
  • Crystal and stained glass pieces
  • Glass accessories
  • Holes for fixing and assembly

Larger-Scale Jewelry

When the hole diameter exceeds 3.0 mm or production speed is a priority.

  • Jewelry pieces with larger holes
  • Series production
  • Complements ultrasonic drilling
  • Larger stones
